The summer of the last year the producers of Man Power and Peter Wilson (half of the duo Get Real People and owners of Join Our Club Records) put up a new record label called LBL, with a first reference of excellent quality, a compilation featuring 4 exclusive tracks by Scott Fraser, People Get Real, Jamie Blanco and Joonipah, a compilation which had a continuation with the second reference in the label, last march, with other 4 exclusive tracks of Ste Spandex, Asok, Causa and Colours In Waves, and now comes the third reference, the first dedicated to an artist, this time with producer of Iron Blu that presenting 3 new compositions and 2 remixes, one in the vinyl edition, by the veteran British producer of Mark E aka Mark Evetts (Merc label owner).
The producer of Iron Blu, a producer who started in music is at the end of the 70s as a original member of the UK post-punk band of Naked Lunch and that currently runs the label of Flight Recorder, in addition to being broadcaster in Intergalactic FM and his tasks as a producer, which led him to publish his compositions in labels as a Flight Recorder, Plastic Fantastic Records, Biotech Recordings, Out Of Bounds, Vivoid (an EP in collaboration with Emile Strunz) or be included tracks in compiled albums of labels such as Rothmans or Endless Illusion; and now Iron Blu comes with 3 new compositions, a compositions in which Iron Blu also is the director of the promotional videos of the 3 tracks, a compositions in which Iron Blu runs classic sounds, old school, to update them and intended for dancing.
This new EP from Iron Blu opens with ‘Cold Harbour’ with more than 5 minutes that remind us of the classic sound of Chicago House, analogue synthesizers, great bassline, raw, simple and effective for make us to dance; with ‘Dervish’ develops a composition more hypnotic and mysterious, with a sound more raw and hard; and completing the original compositions with ‘Bub Maya’, with touches of old school, with a slower tempo, and 6 magic minute, perfect for the sunsets of summer on the beach or pool.
Completing the EP with the 2 remixes of Mark E for the tracks ‘Cold Harbour’, 2 remixes that Mark transforms completely the Iron Blu composition, first with the remix called ‘Forrest Mix’ which with its 7 minutes of remix, Mark E transforms the composition on a track nearly ambient, soft and delicate remix, with a slow crescendo as it progresses the remix, and as a bonus in the digital edition, the remix called ‘Remix V2’, with those atmospheric sounds of previous remix to which are now included some almost tribal percussion, making the remix almost a ritual dance of great beauty.
An EP, that the vinyl edition is a limited edition of 300 copies.
