The veteran producer from Sheffield of Mark Barrott in the mid-1990s began his project of Future Loop Foundation, a project which lasted until 2008, in 10 years in which published several albums and EPs on labels as Planet Dog, Liquid, Pan-Kay Records, Louisiana Recordings or Just Music, and after Mark Barrott retreated to the idyllic Punta del Este (Uruguay) where he founded his own record label of International Feel Recordings, a label that in these 6 years stands out for the excellent quality of the productions, a label mainly oriented to the Balearic sounds, and giving output to other personal projects of Mark Barrott as are Bepu N’Gali, EFEEL or Rocha. In 2012 Mark Barrott moved from Punta del Este to the Isla Blanca of the Mediterranean, Ibiza, from where he continues managing his own label, and start his most personal project, under his own name of Mark Barrott, a project that published an album, ‘Sketches From An Island (2014)’, that came after the publication of 3 EPs of presentation thereof.
This next Monday, 27 April, and on his own label of International Feel Recordings, Mark Barrott is back with 2 new compositions, an excellent compositions where once more the producer knows join and merge electronics elements with the recordings of field, recordings made with tribes and tribal elements, constructing a timeless, magical and hypnotic compositions of great quality and with a very detailed production.
By opening this new EP of 2 tracks by Mark Barrott with the magical ‘Bush Society’ and his 11 minutes of dreamy melodies, a composition that begins with simple elements of percussion and natural recordings (storm, birds, bugs,…) that will be joining as brushstrokes that are completing the composition with Goji drums and Brazilian percussion, all recorded by the same Mark Barrott during his residence in South America and including those electronic arrengements, bass that rumble, as if it were a storm, and percussions, as if the water was falling, with completely hypnotic and magical effect.
On the second original cut, ‘Saviours Or Savages?’, with 5 minutes in which Mark Barrott presents a composition more atmospheric, with those recorded percussions by the own Barrott and deep soft and delicate synthesizers that they develop as if from a sunset be treated, a delight of composition.
