Monoblok & PSLKTR – Relapse EP [Meant Records] (2015)

Parisian imprint of Meant Records (Remain), for last reference of 2014 published excellent debut EP of the Bleeping Sauce project, and for the first reference of the 2015, does so again a brilliantly, with a new EP from French duo of Monoblok & PSLKTR (Yann Aubertot & Benoît Mascot aka PussySelektor), the 4th EP of the duo on the label, 2 new compositions and 3 remixes, an EP that next January 15 will be published in its vinyl edition (4 tracks) and on February 2, in its corresponding digital edition (5 tracks). By opening this new EP with ‘Relapse’, more than 6 minutes of dark, energetic and brilliant sound with atmospheric guitars, powerful bass, hard-hitting drums and a way of singing to 80s, almost gothic, sinister, killer track, that accompanied the remix of the German trio of Rework, carrying the remix to more than 8 minutes, with a result more minimalist, hypnotic and incorporating new female vocals that give a touch more sensual and sexy, and in the digital edition, complemented with the remix of the Canadian trio of My Favorite Robot, with 8 minutes in which guitars stand out and apply effects to voices and new electronic elements that carry the remix to the dancefloor, great remix; and the other original, another killer track, ‘Walking Disaster’, with a somewhat slower tempo, more mysterious and dark composition, and a disturbing vocals, excellent 7 minutes, complemented with the remix of French producer of Arnaud Rebotini, with new industrial elements, metallic beats and effects that increase the strength of the track. Highly recommended.
