Romin – Fallen [Emerald & Doreen Records] (2015)

Tomorrow the German imprint of Emerald & Doreen Records released the debut of the Irish project of Romin, or what is the same thing the solo debut of Leo Pearson, half of Future Bones (Tici Taci), an EP composed of 4 original tracks, magic 4 tracks, which Leo teaches us a sound different from the usual in Future Bones, compositions more intimate, sung, with much influenced by 1980s synth-pop, full of emotion, feeling and melancholy, by opening this EP with ‘Breathe’, a ballad with the voice as the main element of the composition, magical and beautiful, raising the tempo with ‘Wasted’, synthesizers more raw and the sweet voice of Leo that takes us back to former times, with a rhythm that rides steady and we catch in its melodies, and return to those times more soft and slow with ‘Fallen’, accompanied by synthesizers and percussion that are marking the passing of the composition, and completing this debut with ‘Ropeburn’, another delicious composition, strokes of percussion, sounds more forceful, and a few touches of acid along with the wonderful voice of Leo. Great EP, very recommendable debut, which already announced a second part with remixes.
