New reference onthe imprint of Life and Death, the reference number 25 in 5 years, and this new reference are ‘Parallel Shopping EP’ with 2 new cuts from a veteran, the Dutch dj and producer Steve Rachmad, an artist who, since the mid-90s, has a very long list of productions, remixes, a long list that has used a long list of aliases, as Sterac, name under which in 1995 published his excellent album ‘Secret Life Of Machines’ in the label of 100% Pure, an album that a few years ago is re-edited, remastered and the addition of new remixes, an album of 20 years ago and which still sound as actual, and since then has not stopped publishing their own material widely regarded as the father of Detroit Techno in the Netherlands, respected in the world of electronics by his vision of techno, his way of understanding and executing techno, and now there are these 2 new compositions by Steve Rachmad for Life and Death.
By opening this new EP from Steve Rachmad on Life and Death with the 8 minutes ‘Out In The Open (Edit)’, a powerful, punchy and energetic cut that traps us since its start, in which merge elements tehcno with atmospheric and deep arrangements, raw sounds with melodies of dreamy, magic, a melodies that grow in the midst of the darkness of the night advancing and developing without pause. In the second cut of the EP, ‘Parallel Shopping’ with a start more hypnotic, somewhat softer than in first cut, with machines by drawing some mysterious melodies, melodies that are directly addressed to our mind to seize them and make them travel, with a crescendo and constant tension in the more than 8-minute composition.
