An interview with Back for Good

Back for Good is unique in its freelance work. This uniquely inspired musician, who has made a name for himself through a handful of tasty songs.

His music is unclassifiable, but it has no rival. He closes his eyes and lets the sensations flow.

When and how did you get your interest in electronic music?

My first contact with electronic music was in 1993. I was only 10 then and came to music through my cousin. It sounded so fresh and energetic to me that I was immediately enthusiastic about it. I started making music myself, but it wasn’t until 2003.

What have you been doing with your time in lockdown in your city or country?

At first I made a lot of music in lockdown. After a while, I also devoted myself to a new project – an online shop for hearing protection – earplugs (www.berlinearguard.com). Compared to many other artists, I wasn’t hit that hard by Corona because I don’t make a living from making music. My condolences go out to all those who are financially more integrated into the catering and club context.

What was your work when producing your last Driving Home from Home Office EP on Turn It Down Music?

I work full-time in marketing at an online jewelry retailer. During the lockdown, I hadn’t seen my colleagues for many months. The situation resulted in quite a monotony with regard to everyday life. The highlight of the day was making music in the evening. This is where the track was created.

Could you recommend a set that you are especially proud of, and that we can see on your Soundcloud or on YouTube?

Maybe my liveact I played at Gratwanderung Festival in 2014:

All my own tracks can be found on:

What can you tell us about the scene of your city? What would you improve?

Unfortunately, there is not much left of it at the moment. I hope that thanks to donations and mutual support, as many clubs as possible will survive.

Finally, what can you tell us about your present and future projects?

At the moment I’m working on some collaborations with other artists and also on other tracks of my own. Some of it is expected to appear on TURN IT DOWN MUSIC next year.
