Finish the summer, the holidays and the month of September is being very interesting in terms of record labels, since there is digital music, the number of labels is increasing, and often accompanied by a large number of references in the new labels, and the month of September we had the birth of new record labels, a few labels founded and run by music professionals, from Madrid had a Rotten City (run by Alvaro Cabana, and presenting in its first double reference to Gatos Negros, on the digital edition, and Tronik Youth, on vinyl), from France with WYN & M (founded by Mathieu Besset and David Ducaruge, with a first reference with Los Massieras), and now from the North-West of England arrives Sprechen Music, founded and directed by Chris Massey, an expert from the mythical city of Manchester, a renowned career as Dj and producer, working with Ben Davis aka Flash Atkins for Paper Recordings, or as the manager of the Electric Elephant Festival, which shows a broad musical knowledge of the scene, the music industry, and thus becomes the creation of this new label called Sprechen Music that as he defines “as a platform to showcase electronic music designed for the dance floor…with a passion for melody, groove, soul & energy and no limitations of style across a diverse release policy…”
And for the debut of the new label of Sprechen Music presents an EP with producer from Bordeaux of Damon Jee aka Jerome Da Silva, an artist who began as a Dj in 2001 and that in the past 10 years has left his compositions on labels such as Tora Tora Tora, Definitive Recordings, Clouded Vision Recordings or his last EP of the last year in Days Of Being Wild , and a long list of remixes, as his most recent remixes for Squarewave (Melomana Records), Sébastien Tex (The Exquisite Pain Recordings), Tronik Youth and The Two Mamarrachos (Nein Records) or daWad & Mokic (Play Pal Music), and now presents these 2 new cuts, 2 tracks that are complemented with 2 remixes, first from the veteran and prestigious producer of Hardway Bros aka Sean Johnston with the collaboration of another great artist such as Duncan Gray (Tici Taci) to play guitar for the remix; and on the other hand, from Paris with one of the surprises of recent times, the duo of Il Est Vilaine, fromed by Simon Says (founder of the label of Dialect Recordings) and Florent aka Dorian Grey.
The debut of the label of Sprechen Music with producer of Damon Jee opens with ‘Summer No Summer’ with electronic hits and space and cosmic sounds to give input to a powerful arpeggiated bassline, and start this cosmic trip, robotic sounds, and an excellent progression in constantly increasing, a cut in which going by adding different elements to enrich the composition, a delight of compositions; in the other original cut called ‘Cuir Rouge’ increases the hypnotic state, a darker, more forceful sound, again with an excellent development, all controlled at perfection, each new sound, new element at the right time, killer track.
And completing this original cuts from Damon Jee with the remixes, first with Hardway Bros and the remix for ‘Summer No Summer’, with a new demonstration of the quality of this artist, taking the reconstruction of the cut more psychedelic sounds, sounds that are emphasized with the addition of a bright guitar played by multi-instrumentalist and producer Duncan Gray (Tici Taci), an epic trip of more than 7 minutes. For their part, the duo of Il Est Vilaine with a remix for ‘Cuir Rouge’, a remix called ‘ Cuir Re-Interpretation’, offer a reconstruction with their particular interpretation, by adding new vocals, some mysterious vocals and deep, a bass that invites us to move, powerful percussion and magic synthesizers, all of this is creating great tension along the remix. Highly recommended release.
