Drunken Kong presents “In Control” [Octopus Recordings]

0

Drunken Kong is the project of D. Singh from Tokyo Japan. In 2010, he started the project when one day, suddenly, he decided to make a track. Since then, he has released two albums on Christian Smith’s Tronic label, The Signs Within (2017) and Where We Start (2020), as well as numerous EPs and singles on labels such as Octopus Recordings, Stil Vor Talent and Terminal M while remaining active. . with national label as Session WOMB. All 7 tracks from his EP in early 2017 on Tronic and Terminal M have made the Beatport Top 100 Techno chart at the same time, which has had an impact on the Asian and global techno scene.

He now publishes “In Control”, in Octopus, with a dynamic and futuristic production coming from his laboratory in Tokyo, entertaining the stellar vocal talent of Theo Nasa.
“In Control” is serious work, care is taken to start it up and not return to reality until it is finished: the headphones are like the oxygen cylinder that allows you to dive to the bottom of this great sonic rotation, this cosmic . . orbit, and being there in a state of hypnotic fascination. In this world where speed is desperately sought and attention deficit is so high, such a record will be misunderstood among many people, even dismissed as really important. But you just have to have the patience and the desire to stop, to breathe, to sink into it, to stay there as long as possible and to admire its interior.

Marking a pivotal moment in the project, Drunken Kong solidifies its place within the field of dance music. The result is this work: the vinyl edition of Superhéroes is as experimental as it is intense and addictive, taking over oneself like sweet poison, while progressively transporting us, as few producers with a certain fluidity are willing to do. We do not know what the future holds, but we do know that this record is testimony to a turbulent and uncertain present, which will remain in our memory forever. For a job like this, we can continue to fight for a better future.
