Nuta Cookier “You gonna be professional of music and gonna help people with the music”

Nuta Cookier, who we already had the pleasure to premiere, is one of those producers who drives in a underground line inside of a style that is usually mainstream. With over 15 years experience in this industry, the Brazilian Dj shows off more 110 releases throughout his live.

He has worked with international artists like Axel Karakasis, Oliver Lieb, M.I.K.E. Push, Marco Bailey o Tom Hades and edited on many labels like CLAB Records, House Pacific o Future Scope Recordings, just mentioning some of them. Today on Como Las Grecas, we make a few questions to know more about him.

When and how did you get your interest in electronic music?

I always interested in music, I started when I was 5 playing the flute, years after when i was teenager i started loving dance music. It was not the underground, but those was the first steps for me in Electronic music.

How did you decide to dedicate into production?

Before starting anything i wanted to make my own music. So I started both djing and producing at the same time, and continued studying piano and attending courses for music production.

How do you assess the trajectory you have had and what were the reasons that led you to start it?

Even before being a dj and a producer, I made mix tapes for my school collegues, my selection was focused on dance music at that time.?I used to sell them, and a lot of people were buying!?One day I was coming back from a trip, driving in my car and listening to electronic music, than like a voice came to my mind: “You gonna be professional of music, and you’re gonna help people with your music”. After that I knew my career did start.

I always believed that music can heal people and bring them good energy.?Not only this, music gives you the chance to go everywhere you want, like travel to stars, planets, other dimensions, spiritual portals and of course divine connections, and connect different worlds. Electronic music works with synthesizers, this electronic instruments have so many frequencies that open a lot of possibility for these connections, of course if the artist feels so. I have the same thought as Beethoven when he said “Music is the language of God”, I can say music is God.

What was your criterion when producing your last EP?

When I make a Ep I always listen to it thousands and thousands times, after a while I stop, take a break and listen to it again . After this I see if I need to change something and then decide if this track makes me happy and make me dance, if it fits my music style and makes me connect with different feeling from the universe (I mean good feeling).

That’s the criterion for this Ep! And for all the releases I made.

Could you recommend a set that you are especially proud of, and that we can see on your Soundcloud or on YouTube?

Here is one from my live act perfomance

This is a dj set

What can you tell us about the scene of your city? What would you improve?

Sao Paulo has one very well know club that is D-Edge , years ago we had so many good clubs for e-music , now just the main one. The party’s here we have some but the biggest scene are from psychedelic trance that has raves open air party’s every weekend.

I always be involved in different projects and party’s and also has my tv show for e-music called Fullmix that complete now 16 years on air at alltv. I am doing now one project called GEM (Global Electronic Music) with a friend, Eric Marke, this is a conference based on music production and live act perfomance.

Also I have another project called Green Modulation People with my friend dj Papaya we do workshops and party’s at the parks here in the nature. What I improve I think we need more space for e-music here and people need to valorize the local artists and recognize the work from them.

Other important thing is to help young people developing their passion for Electronic music. ?Differently from other countries around the world we have so many genres of music in Brazil, so it’s always a tough competition.?We have very good artists and producers, but we need to make the other part more professional.

Finally, what can you tell us about your present and future projects

I am always focused on my compositions, and in different electronic music projects. Nowadays I play more with my live act then as a dj. ?I run the label Future Scope Recordings and i also do meditation and New Age music, Chill Out, Ambient. I have a project called “Meditate For Your Soul” for meditation for the new era, and I made different presentations in the middle of nature for it.

In February I was in Switzerland playing in the middle of the mountains at 3000 meters, with a temperature of -15°.?In April I will release my 6th album for New Age music titled “Space Age 3 The Reveals”. In the future I will continue running all the projects and music productions, and the live acts as performer, dj and musician.

I’m always trying to bring different things and creating new projects and events that can bring innovation and connect with the Universe.

Here I leave the link from the presentation in Switzerland
