French producer V-Dogg, specialized in Pop and Electronics, tells us about his beginnings in electronic music and other interesting things. He has just released his latest single called Run and now he delights us with these beautiful words.
When and how did you get your interest in electronic music?
I Started producing electronic music 10 years ago under other nicknames. I started with house music. I love House music of any kind, it’s my favourite genre in electronic music and i’m really focus on this one. The possibilities are wide and infinite…
What have you been doing with your time in lockdown in your city or country?
I live in Paris and i was mainly listening to some classical music ! Watching 60’s movies and eating burritos. Sounds weird but i’m different you know and that’s how i get confident in such a bad situation…
How do you assess the trajectory you have had and what were the reasons that led you to start it?
Well, i had many other projects before that one and you know it’s always the same process. You produce music, do some pictures of yourself, open social networks dedicated to your music and find some labels to release your music and find new audiences. Here for my project WEDONT, it’s different. I started with a very clear idea of what sound and visuals i want for the project and where i want to go with my future audience. The rest comes after creating the music and the visual art representing the music.
What was your criterion when producing your last single?
I wanted something dark and cinematic on a club beat with pitched vocals.
Could you recommend a set that you are especially proud of, and that we can see on your Soundcloud or on YouTube?
I’m also ½ of Darwin x Mainecoon, a future pop band and we recorded this set during the lockdown:
What can you tell us about the scene of your city? What would you improve?
The electronic music scene is very interestin gin Paris with many different styles, many clubs (closed at the moment…) and many cool labels working closely with artists. I’d improve the price of the squaremeter to make it easier for artists to find a place to live or work. It’s way too expensive for artists.
Finally, what can you tell us about your present and future projects?
WEDONT is a dark club house project but also a visual project. I plan to release new singles on a regular basis and visuals aswell. I dont want to expose myself as a person but more as a creative working on audio and visuals. It’s not about fame, it’s about art !
