Fernando Lagreca – Control [Irregular Label] (2014)

The producer with Uruguayan origin and resident in Barcelona of Fernando Lagreca, recently presented his second album ‘Control’, for the Barcelona label of Irregular, where already published 2 years ago his debut album of ‘Childhood Is All We Have’, and now comes with 9 new compositions, with such delicacy and careful production, this time with a slight evolution toward to more dance compositions, and as always with highly visual music, melancholic atmospheres, 9 compositions, and these atmospheres take 45 minutes to leave and fly high with imagined images, an album that wins in each new listen, which discover new details of this careful production, an album that opens with ‘Over’, a perfect introduction to what awaits us in the album, a track between his previous album and this new, magic composition, with guitars, arpeggios to dream and a soft voice, to get into ‘Loved’, with a more retro flavor (guitars from 80s), and classic synthesizers and melodic voice, with ‘X’ leads a slow dance, more electronic, dance that makes us fly with music, with ‘Way Of Control’ follows the line of the previous track, now with an excellent work in the vocals, sung, sampled and processed, all with a touch more epic, with ‘Yes’ include analog, with elements and a few atmospheres more dark and mysterious; landscapes of dreamy, emotive and cold with ‘Quiet Lake’, the disturbing of ‘Run’, with an excellent development of the composition that hypnotizes us and makes us dance in a slow movements; cold, atmospheric and captivating moments with ‘Djurgården’, and closing the album, in a beautiful way, with the delightful ‘Living Light’, with a few percussions and soft and sensual rhythms that invites us to listen to the album again and enjoy with this excellent producer.
