Ghostlawns – Motorik [Sub Records] (2020)

The next Sub Records release could appear as an audiobook for transcendental meditations. The Cardiff-based music collective Ghostlawns presents Motorik, featuring a sinuous collection of mantras projected in light, silver dust and darkness. This last reference consolidates the trajectory of a group that does not lack notable virtues. Its cinematographic sound makes us go beyond the limits of musical and metaphysical genres, taking us to a unique place.

All these themes come together, in the manner of a philosophical essay, until combining an album as experimental as it is intense and addictive, which takes over oneself like a sweet poison, while transporting us progressively and boisterously, as few musical groups are capable of doing. , condensing two ideas that it seemed that we were not going to recover: future and permanence.

Each track resonates from the depths, and manages to enter a unique and very personal sonic cosmos, covering a wide range of sonic textures that will make our speakers roar.

We do not know what the future holds, but we do know that this album is a testimony to a turbulent and uncertain present, which will remain in our memory forever.
