Hiatus – Distancer [Lucky Thunder]

British-Iranian artist Hiatus (real name Cyrus Shahrad) returns to announce the details behind his highly anticipated new studio album, which lands on April 9 via Lucky Thunder. Hiatus presents “Distancer”, an album that aims to transfer reality to another level through its unique sound, which it consolidates with this latest work.

“Distancer” could be defined as emotional electronics that fluctuate from the most peaceful environment to the most energetic bass and kick drums, passing through beautiful orchestral textures. Cyrus has been channeling his Iranian heritage through music since 2005, when he rediscovered his father’s record collection while working as a journalist in Tehran. Since then, his releases have featured samples of old Iranian records, a salvaged Iranian nursery rhyme for a choir, even his father recites ancient Persian poetry.

With the perfect amount of substance to be fireproof, presented in a powerful style that ranges from classic to innovative. A delight only for music lovers, which sums up the musical philosophy of an artist who promises to give a lot to talk about in the near future.

“Distancer” is built a timeless and pyrotechnic set, to which we will go over time trying to decipher that magical and complex mechanism that manages to transcend all expectations of dance music.
