Joe Morris – Love Waves [Shades of Sound] (2020)

Overwhelming is the experience that Joe Morris accumulates in the world of electronic music and so is his new EP: “Love Waves”. Although Morris has gone through various stages within his creative process, encompassing a multitude of genres, in “Love Wave” manages to display an evolved, refined and enhanced sound, which consolidates the career of a producer who is not without notable virtues, presented with such unique and fresh nuances, which manage to shape unique pieces, as enjoyable in a club as at home.

There is something in these tracks that looks to the past without losing sight of the present, managing to resurface a very particular sound. From the energetic “Love Waves”, through the envolving “Mirador”, or the powerful and ironic “Dance Mentality”, to the captivating and magical “The Orange Test”. All of these tracks come together, until they combine an album as experimental as it is intense and addictive, which takes possession of oneself as a sweet poison, while it transports us progressively and boisterously, as few producers with determined fluency they are ready to do, condensing two ideas that it seemed that we were no longer going to recover: future and permanence.

Joe Morris tries to transmit his particular personality and life project in this deep and intimate Love Waves, and manages like few others to metabolize diversity into surprise, the unexpected in art, and the combination of cold ingredients, in a warm and comforting broth, full of evocation and present, announcing, in addition, that in the next references, the level cannot be lowered.
