For Immediate release:11 March 2022 Italian-born and London based classically trained pianist and vocalist Sara De Sanctis is set to release her second single ‘15 Again’ on April 1st, 2022. The song was prized at the national Italian competition ‘Il Cantagiro’ and combines elements of pop, jazz with synths and acousmatic music. “ ‘15 Again’ is my way of reclaiming the beauty of being vulnerable against the pressure we face to excel at every single aspect of our lives”, says Sara.

Sara started playing the piano at five years old and became passionate about songwriting and composition during her teenage years. “After graduating in classical piano, I realised playing other composers’ works wasn’t as exciting for me as performing my own music and singing.” Her interest in composition led her to the UK and the USA, where she also studied film scoring and conducting after influences such as Hans Zimmer and Ennio Morricone. In 2021, she decided to pursue a career in songwriting and released her debut single ‘Serendipity’, featured on BBC and prized in Italy. “Even though I chose another path, classical music helped me develop musical thinking and composition methods that I can now use in my own works. I wrote many drafts of ‘15 Again’, as I am passionate about acousmatic music and I wanted to
incorporate sounds that would give the piece a new life. It took such a long time because it was hard to balance all the ideas in less than four minutes of music!” says Sara. Inspired by artists such as Björk, Thom Yorke, Diana Krall and Agnes Obel, she is working towards the
release of her next EP. She is active as a pianist and singer/songwriter and is studying conducting in London.

Sara De Sanctis’ single ‘15 Again’ is slated for release on April 1st, 2022
