Planet Jumper – Planet Jumper EP [Tici Taci] (2015)

British imprint of Tici Taci (founded and run by Duncan Gray) each month brings a new surprise, a pleasant surprise, if last August took us travel to France with Iko & Gibb, in September fly to Argentine with Veneno, and now fly to Australia to present a new debut on the label, the duo of Planet Jumper formed by Steve Ford and Drew Schapper, 2 disco-funk lovers, a duo that debuted in the 2010 on Lightspeed Recordings, and since then they have left signs of their quality on labels such as Smash Bang, Dobara, Heartbeat Revolutions or Finn Audio, or their debut album in 2013 for the german label of Little Angel Records, a duo that in their live performances incorporate drums and percussion by interpreting their compositions, and who now for the label of Tici Taci sign this new EP that is composed with 3 original compositions, 3 extensive compositions of more than 8 minutes each one, and a remix by the boss of the label, the brilliant producer and multi-instrumentalist Duncan Gray.

By opening this new EP of Planet Jumper on Tici Taci with ‘Don’t Make No Waves, don’t Back No Losers’, with nearly 9 minutes of frenetic pace, sharp guitar wah-wah, energetic percussions, some synthesizers with all the flavour of the 80s, and bass very funk to dance and move to the crowd on the dance floor; percussion hits us initiated into the second cut of ‘In This Life Of The Next’, one angelic vocal samples are attached to the cut, along with the guitars and bass, with a bubbly elements and organic percussions accompanying the hypnotic rhythm and funk of the composition; and finally, ‘Push To Bump Back’, with some voices in vocoder and the wah wah guitar that transport us to the glorious era of the disco-funk, 3 great cuts that are complemented with the remix of Duncan Gray to the cut ‘In This Life Of The Next’, another excellent and brilliant work of this artist, incorporating elements that give it a more powerful pace, a powerful percussion, tearing guitar, a mysterious bass, will be joining the funk rhythms, great remix.
