Roe Deers: “My criteria are eclectic and unpredictable”

We have the great pleasure of interviewing the big dj and producer Roe Deers, in full creative effervescence. Recently he has published a vinyl: Lazer in The Jungle, for the emblematic record label Playground Records, which will give much to talk about. And if not, come in, read and dance.

Hi Roe. Please introduce yourself: who are you, where are you and what are you?

My name is Liudas, I’m based in Vilnius for last ten years.

I’m DJ, music producer, event promoter, radio host and smoker.

How do you assess the trajectory you have had and what were the reasons that led you to start it?

First of all I think it was my dad impact. In the 80’s he was also a DJ, later club owner where I start to play. But the most funny part that electronic music to our family bring my younger sister. It all begins with BlackstrobeMe And Madonna.

Who or what influenced you to get into the music industry?

Actually all story begins with hip hop. Till 12 years old I was very in to hip hop things, not only music. It was funny teenage period, with my best friend Domas we was recording our rap songs. But one day old PC died with all our “album”. Thanks good, maybe it was the sign to stop wear those over size clothes.

What is your music criterion in your last vinyl, Lazer in The Jungle on Playground Records?

Lazer In The Jungle Ep actually was picked from very various list of my music. So the mine idea as always is to keep it more eclectic and unpredictable.

How was the whole process on this vinyl? The label, the remixes, etc etc

We are really good friend with Playground boys, so it was easy to setup everything, when we all on the same page. They did great job here!

What have been the most influential factors on your career so far?

Weird but danceable music.

How did you decide to dedicate into production?

I think the main thing is not to get into production, but to catch the moment then you finally know how to express your ideas in the studio. It’s takes time, but everybody has his own way to make music, then it’s become something new.

What can you tell us about the scene of your city? What would you improve?

During the size of city, our scene is huge and very active. We have great clubs like Opium Club, Lizdas, Kablys, Peronas. But the main thing here is crowd. They insane!

Finally, what can you tell us about your present and future projects?

Last year was very great and busy. Firs tour around Europe and Israel. Debut on Throne Of Blood and Playground Records, bunch of remixes and edits. Also start second project with my friend Titas called BDHBTS, and our label “Good Skills”. Already released our first EP, and preparing new stuff for 2020.

For next year have 2 EP, and will finishing first album of Roe Deers.
