Tim Green – Empire EP [My Favorite Robot Records] (2015)


Dj and producer from London’s Tim Green, owner of the imprint of Disc Over Music, returns to the Canadian imprint of My Favorite Robot Records (run and founded by the Canadian trio of My Favorite Robot), label in which the year past published his ‘Helpless Sun EP’, an EP with 2 original cuts and 2 remixes from Ryan Crossons, an artist who in the last 10 years has published for labels like Trapez Renaissance, Dirtybird, Get Physical Music and Cocoon Recordings among other many labels, in addition to a long list of remixes for various artists and labels; and this is their third EP of this 2015 after ‘We Thought EP’ (Disc Over Music) and ‘Eclipse EP’ (Cocoon Recordings), and that in this new EP presents 2 new cuts from this producer, cuts with an orientation towards the club, for the dance floor.

This second EP by Tim Green for My Favorite Robot Records with 6 minutes of ‘Empire’, with a hypnotic and captivating rhythms for the dancefloor, synthesizers that create melodies that slide smoothly on percussions and buzzing, with mysterious sounds that appear in the development of the cut, all of which are incorporated in a subtle way. In the second cut of ‘Overstance’ takes us on its 8 minutes to a more introspective and mental trip, sounds more trippy at the start of the track, in which a few magic and cosmic synths that are creating a delicate and mysterious atmosphere, with a second part of the cut where the most compelling sounds are taking over composition are being incorporated.
