Ummagma – Lama [Emerald & Doreen Records EDR055] (2014)

Last December, the German label Emerald & Doreen Records published a double A-single with Ukraine-Canada duo of Ummagma (Alexander Kretov & Shauna McLarnon), 2 songs with a sound very near to Dreampop, Shoegaze, Indie Pop, and now on the label, present a new track with 7 remixes, ‘Lama’ a ??track that reminds us of those great moments of 90s Shoegaze (My Bloody Valentine, Stereolab …..) with Shauna’s sweet voice singing the track and those melodies pop and sharp guitars; accompanying the track with 7 remixes, from Germany with producer Theatre of Delays that offers a more electro house remix, remix effective; from Italy with pioneer Alexander Robotnick and a remix that fuses the rhythms more spacy and pop with a journey through the galaxies pop of Robotnick; from Sweden with Copycat and those sounds with more disco, more to the dance floor, fused with the voices of shoegaze-pop of the track and nearly 7 minute of trip into spacy – disco- pop sounds; from Germany with go nogo with a remix with synthesizers bring to mind some early Stereolab moments, and with a very detailed effects and arrangements; the Italian duo of Irregular Disco Workers with almost 8 minutes blunt remix, touches of acid and epic moments to dance and enjoy the dance floor; from Russia with Sounds of Sputnik that offer more shoegaze- psychedelic remix; and completing the pack, from Brazil with Mind Movies that offers a remix with many breaks and relaxing moments in contrast with dirty sounds.
