After such a terrible year for the music industry, many proposals and labels have given their best to release music that perhaps, in another context, would have been different. This is the case of the Correspondant compilation, which after 12 months, brings us a great V / A

12 months older, 12 months wiser: the correspondent celebrates the end of a year that we will all be happy to see with his annual V / A work, 18 tracks deep, alongside old friends (Man Power, DC Salas, Juan Mclean and TERR) and new friends (Captain Mustache, Mala Ika, Franz Scala, INV?KER) alike.

This ‘Compilation 8’ is a ray of sonic light to keep us moving forward these strange times. Packed with energy with all the left field hues and flavors we’ve come to know and love the Jennifer Cardini label for. Dark disco, sexy synthwave, cosmic funk in slow motion, and sleazy techno and dubby are deep in the mix. Conceived as an encounter, but also as a journey through different parts of the world, the album is full of dark and hypnotic sounds and counterpoint with overwhelming rhythms. And it is that, in the face of a musical panorama that tends towards uniformity, this album is presented as a collection of themes, not of DJ tools, but of tracks that work the same at home as in a club. Topics that take us beyond the known, embracing the mystery, a darkness yet to be discovered.

The result of this V / A is very personal, and manages to unleash a feeling that is sometimes disconcerting, familiar and welcoming at the same time, which marks the end of one stage and the beginning of another, for a label that has never stopped surprise us, give us premium positive vibes and bet on artists capable of questioning, like few others, the established.
