Sigward – Tall Tales [Shabu Recordings SHA009] (2014)

The label from Montreal of Shabu Recordings for their new reference brings us a very interesting EP, 2 tracks of the collaboration between Dutch producers Sigward and Oliver Sudden, and a track of Sigward accompanied with a great remix, 4 excellent tracks where to give output to different musical influences, 4 different tracks to understand music, opening the EP with Sigward & Oliver Sudden feat. Mirza and their “Welcome Back My Sun” with 7-minute dark, slow, beats of drum, spacey synths and excellent voice of Mirza which gives a touch more retro and psychedelic-kraut, excellent track; continuing with the more krautrock, like a jam of Sigward & Oliver Sudden feat. Mirza & Maarten Emanuel Stok for the track called “Infobahn” with more than 11 minutes of krautrock, wonderful 11 minutes; and reach the most ambiental, melodic moment with “Double Triangles” where Sigward directs this composition with a magic synthesizers accompanied by an excellent piano playing by Tom Tukker and a bass by Maarten Emanuel Stok, magical track accompanied by a beautiful video to put images in this beautiful composition; track accompanied witha remix by producer from New Jersey of J Velez aka Professor Genius maintaining wonderful melody from the original, adding a more danceable rhythms, great remix. Excellent EP
