Can you tell us a little about your experience? Where are you from / how did you get into music? Was it all internet based?
Hello, thank you very much for the invitation, I am from Brazil, the city of «Campo Grande», music has always been present in my life, my mother used to listen to «House, Eletro, Dance and Pop Rock» a lot, when I was a teenager, I always had the curiosity to know how those songs were made, at that moment I’ve heard other electronic songs, I became a producer, before learning to play, I had 17 to 18 years old.
Everything I learned in this early career was looking for information on the internet, I met a lot of people, exchanging information.
Who have been your main inspirations (both musical and in «life»)? And how have they affected your sound?
The main artists that influenced me were Christian Smith, Loco Dice, Luciano, Jamie Jones, Bushwacka, Marco Carola, Ricardo Villalobos and Richie Hawtin, but Luciano won me over much more, for his performance and also for his songs, I always try to leave my songs with a more organic touch, as if there was a person really playing that instrument, I believe he influenced me in this part of the compositions.
How would you define your sound?
I see my sound with a lot of groove, I love to use percussions, simpler basses, striking drums, straighter songs.
How has your sound evolved so far?
I believe that the strongest change was in the technical part, because I stick to the ideas of my beginnings, this gives me freedom to create.
What can you tell us about your last job? What inspired you? What do you want to convey?
My most recent work was a remix for the track «Raio», which came out on my label, this marks my return to releases, in this pandemic period, I had to take a break from productions, and focus more on my other work.
My biggest inspiration was the old «tech house», Paco Osuna style.
With my return to productions, I reconnected with the origins, looking for references to the classics, I want to highlight this, more striking elements.
What can you tell us about each song that makes up your latest work? What is hidden behind?
In the last works, I went through the minimal, deeper sound, my tracks have this tech house essence, I try to make the tracks more fun, more club track.
Worse than there’s no secret, I see them more objective, straight to the point.
How are you living the current situation because of COVID? Has your work affected you a lot? Do you think there is hope? I feel like the underground scene will continue to persist.
Yes, the underground scene will remain strong, now even stronger, there are many lovers of underground music, this is our goal to maintain this culture.
COVID affected the Brazilian scene a lot, because many had to protect themselves, those who explicitly depended on the nights, in my situation, I had to stop everything to focus on other work to be able to live, I participated in some lives, that’s what saved me in this painful period, but now everything is getting back to normal, this ride has been really nice, I’m very excited.
What projects are you working on right now?
I’m focusing on the label, this year it turns 9, I have some ideas to celebrate, in addition to the creative process I’m going through, testing new sounds, many tracks are coming.
