Edwin creates music that works in all settings and transcends genres. His openness to a wide range of sound is what has both made him a widely loved favourite, but also someone who operates in his own parallel musical world. Can you tell us a little about your experience as a new artist? Where are you from / how did you get into music? Was it all internet-based?

Being a new artist and having the opportunity to express myself through music is one of the greatest things one can experience in my opinion.

I am from Miami but I was originally born in Honduras. When I was a kid, I was always doing something music-related; either playing drums or guitar. My brother turned me on to electronic music when I was around 11 and loved it. Then I started going to concerts in Miami — that’s how I got into electronic music.

Who have been your main inspirations (both musical and in «life»)? And how have they affected your sound?

I am inspired by multiple music genres, but I feel the most inspired by Latin and electronic music! Avicii and Tiesto are big inspirations but there are too many to mention.

How would you define your sound?

It’s a mix of pop and electronic.

How has your sound evolved so far?

It constantly changes, I try to produce music that speaks to me and reflects who I am. I would say I’ve gone back to the sounds I made when I started producing, those were my best sounds and the ones I like the most.

What can you tell us about each song that makes up your latest work, “Day & Night” in particular? What inspired it?

‘Day&Night’ was inspired by a girl who drifted into my life briefly but made a big impression on me. It’s about the memories we made together and how we hold to those memories forever.

How are you living in the current situation because of COVID? Has your work affected you a lot? Do you think there is hope? I feel like the underground scene will continue to persist.

The underground scene is thankfully alive and well. Lots of people would disagree, but It has been great to write while also being locked down, I feel that’s when some of my best ideas were created. I am a positive person by nature and have hope!

What projects are you working on right now?

Mainly my own project; I have 2 songs that I can’t wait to release and some other collaborations in the works.
