Can you tell us a little about your experience? Where are you from / how did you get into music?
Greetings my name is Alex Zelenka, Born in Chicago, Influenced by underground House and Techno Music, I started collecting vinyl records to dj in 1996, From then on I went onto producing my own music leading up to working with bigger artists and getting major label deals.
Performing countless amazing shows and releasing new music monthly.
Who have been your main inspirations (both musical and in «life»)? And how have they affected your sound?
Some of the biggest influences in my life were, DJ Paul Johnson, Gene Farris, Terry Mullen, Joy Division, New Order, The Cure, David Bowie and Ethan Kath.
They have inspired me many times over to try something new.
How would you define your sound?
I make electronic Music, A Hybrid blend of all my favorite genres of music fused together. Chicago House / Techno, New Wave, Italo and 80’s music.
How has your sound evolved so far? Do you see yourself as part of one style of music?
The quality of my music seems to get better as I get older and more educated on how I want it to sound. Youtube has been a big help learning how to make music.
What can you tell us about your last release? What inspired you? What do you want to convey?
Sun Showers, I made this catchy up beat tune and I sat on it for a while.
Then one day in NYC I was walking around Manhattan and ran into Matthew Silver
Doing a street performance so I pulled out my phone to film him
And it was the perfect message for the song. A hilarious message about flatulence and Love, Quality metaphor.
What modern artists are you enjoying? Maybe you can share some lesser known artists we might not know of?
Zanias, Nvrmore, Eartheater, Michael Joyce, Chelsea Wolfe, You’ll Never Get To Heaven.
What projects are you working on right now?
I have a cool release coming out in Feb 2023 on Fresca recordings with DJ Jes
And a bunch of new music I’ll be self releasing every month.
