Mattia invited his favorite producers from the past and present to create their own vision of his music.
The remix album is scheduled for a June 30 release and will be released on vinyl, 3-part and digital.
We have had the pleasure of interviewing him, and this has been the result.
Can you tell us a little about yourself? Where are you from / how did you get into music?
Hey guys thanks for the invite! Im a techno dj and producer from Bologna, north of italy and label owner of Pushmaster Discs, vinyl and digital record label since more then 10 years. Im in the music business since 15 years because i was born in a musical family and music is my first think when i wake up in the morning.
Who have been your main inspirations (both musical and in «life»)? And how have they affected your sound?
definitely my father, he passed away on 2013 and he was one of the best old school funky/ disco and house music deejays of italy, he s really a legend.I’m really proud of family so this music roots inspired me to work hard every day for the music.
my mission is to continue the art of family.
How would you define your sound? And how has your sound evolved since you first started?
in one word i can describe it as “High-quality real techno” .
my first productions were more slow in bpm of course and i started with the dub techno then grow through the detroit style, at the moment there’s more nu school style with big jungle/drum n bass influences and rave/warehouse atmospheres.
I love my sound of years ago but i prefer this new wave more fast and powerdub of course, new upcoming stuff will be definitely a basic channel 3.0 !
What can you tell us about the remixes for your «the scenery» album?
its the hard work of years, i selected my fav producers of all time i combined past present and future of techno inside one big project. im so proud to have big legends like robert hood / luke slater / marcel dettmann / ken ishii inside this because i was big fan of their music since i was a kid so work with them now is likea a dream and an important goal.
What projects are you working on right now?
still exeperimenting new stuff in da studio and focus on drum n bass / dreamy jungle tracks i would like to release a solo big ep the next year with that atmospheres, lets see i hope in a good summer full of new ideas!
