Nasty Mo EP is a selection of two tracks of Rush Hour Raw Chicago-Acid techno from Italian producer Gioele Cantoni, also known as ProOne79.
We start with «Nasty Mo», 303 acid synths combined with 909 elements; Claps, cheery hi hats and those vocal samples that give an old school sound vibe. Here the mix of percussive elements, vocal takes and melodic layers is labyrinthine and intelligent at the same time. Pure and raw, warped and harmonic, ProOne79 succeeded perfectly in the quest to create its own distinctive sound.
«Let There Be» has a rhythm driven by low toms and clever use of open and closed hats, here the acid feel of Chicago explodes after every drop of this track.
Here we have a sexy, groovy and properly crafted two-track release, all under the umbrella of Gioele’s signature raw, synth-based sound, highly essential recommended tracks!

- Can you tell us a little more about your experience? Where are you from / how did you get into music? Was it all internet based?
My love affair with dance music started in the hedonism of the mid 90’s, when I began to explore the clubs in the north of my home island, Sardinia. Then I bought my first pair of turntables and after a couple of years I started DJing in small clubs.
- Who inspired you most (both in the musical field and in life)? And how did they affect your sound?
Life itself is the greatest inspiration. Besides this, I was inspired by the ordinary people that work hard and follow their passions to become successful. As regards music, I drew inspiration from artists like Laurent Garnier, Green Velvet, and from the godfather of the acid sound: Phuture 303.
- How would you define your sound?
My sound is raw, simple but powerful at the same time!
- How has your sound been evolving so far?
I think my sound is a little bit harsher and more raw than before the Pandemic.
- What can you tell us about your latest release “Nasty Mo EP”? What inspired you?
“Nasty Mo EP” was totally created in my studio. I started working on a couple of acid patterns i had previously recorded. Then I kept on building it by adding drums, vocals etc.
I’ve tried to keep the distinctive rawness that characterizes my latest techno productions.
- What can you tell us about each song that makes up your latest work? What is hidden behind?
‘Nasty Mo’ is a techno acid tune dedicated to the sound of the modified 303, definitely nastier than the classic and cleaner 303 sound. “Let There Be” is a techno tune with an old school flavour. Both tracks are dedicated to the dancefloor.
- What projects are you working on right now?
At the moment I’m working on some house tunes with my dear mate Alfrenk. In addtion, I have some stuff out soon on a new label called Supercluster, run by Freddy Fresh and BORDON. More music will be released between the end of this year and 2023.
