Can you tell us a little about your experience? Where are you from / how did you get into music? Was it all internet based?
I am from Phoenix, Arizona. I grew up on heavy metal and rock, played the drums with my father who played guitar. I eventually when I was 13, was given a flash drive with FL studio on it from a friend I skated with, I moved the file over to my computer and started making beats, I then got into djing, mainly focusing on playing my own music , a full set of it , that’s what I set out to do. I made tons of music , I then played a couple shows but have really focused on live work as well lately , as I loved making productions but I liked making them outside of the computer. Fast forward to today , I’m just happy to run a small label of self releases and collaborations with people I respect.
Who have been your main inspirations (both musical and in «life»)? And how have they affected your sound?
Jimi hendrix, miles Davis, my father, deadmau5, Kerri chandler , dj stingray there were several artists who I was constantly listening to and watching and as I grew so did my taste in music.
I am influenced by the paradise garage in New York, it’s really been shaping what I think and how I feel about making music along with newer artists as well, Christopher Rau , DJ Pipe , Viewtiful Joe, to name a few.
How would you define your sound?
Raw.
How has your sound evolved so far?
Used to be very eclectic and trance sounding sometimes , or deep house garage sounds but now its more techy and raw , kind of right to the point , not a lot of of effects just real live improvised music give or take.
What can you tell us about your latest compilation? What inspired you? What did you want to convey?
It was a project that I wanted to put together with originally 14 people but it got down to ten, the idea still the same , showing artists and their sounds and what they can do. I also am happy to call of these people friends. So it’s fun to have your own label to do this with.
What can you tell us about each theme and artist that makes up your latest work? What is hidden behind?
Each theme is simple, they all are showcasing their favorite tracks / showing their style. Heartfelt some of them and super unique others. Just really a very nice catalog of music.
How are you living the current situation because of COVID? Has your work affected you a lot? Do you think there is hope? I feel like the underground scene will continue to persist.
I work driving around the city , delivering food and packages. Covid definitely hurt a lot of people in the music industry, I do not make a living from my label and I do not play gigs often so I also make little money from that. The underground was here before me and it will be here after I’m gone, I only want to add my niche in the beautiful thing that is music, let alone electronic music. I think there is love on this planet and we all need to put our thoughts in love not hate.
What projects are you working on right now?
I am working on a remix and a couple more EP’s with friends. I also have been making music for friends.
