Can you tell us a little about your experience? Where are you from / how did you get into music? Does your training come from the Internet?

I am a true rave kid from the 90s. I was dancing at raves and the Love Parade in Berlin, before I started to make electronic music with two friends in 1996. During these times I also bought my first synthesizer: A Yamaha CS1X, which I still use as a master keyboard in my studio. Back in those days, the internet was at a very early stage so my friends and I had to learn a lot about making electronic music with help of manuals and trying out stuff by ourselves.

Who have been your main inspirations (both musical and in «life»)? And how have they affected your sound?

My main inspiration comes from dancing to the electronic beats of tracks by Emanuel Top, Resistance D, Air Liquide and other heroes from the 90s Acid House and Techno time. I often was a guest at the legendary Omen Club in Frankfurt where Sven Va?th, Frank Lorber and DJ Dag were DJing all night long. I also intensively listened to a radio show called «HR3 Clubnight» with DJ mixes by Frankfurt-based DJs. The recording of these sets on tape was the only possibility to get some DJ mixes at this time.

How would you define your sound? And how has your sound evolved so far?? ?

I call it Deep Techno. I think over time it become more detailed and less raw as in the beginning when I started my current music project «JOIX» in 2009.

What can you tell us about your last job? What inspired you? What do you want to transmit??

My last job was the production of a new mix of «Mantra», a track which comes out on the 31st of March at a remix compilation with great remixes of friendly musicians.

What can you tell us about each track that makes up your latest work? What concept do you want to convey?

My tracks should envoy feelings of deepness with a mystical touch. My last album «Trinity» is a good overview of the styles I prefer: from 4/4 to Broken Beats, from spheric sounds to deep basses you can find many different aspects of sound engineering and it is always danceable.

How are you living with the current situation due to COVID? Has it affected your work a lot? Do you think there is hope? Do you feel that the underground scene will continue to persist??

The Covid period was undoubtedly a tough time. It affected my work insofar, that I generated less productive output. When I can’t play my new tracks live in front of real people I lose a bit of my motivation and the whole atmosphere was also a bit murky in these times. But from my point of view, the underground scene already persists, the people are hungry for good parties now 🙂

What projects are you working on right now?? ?

I am currently planning the Mantra Remixes Release Party at Schlosskeller in Darmstadt and my next Japan Tour in June.
Musically I plan a new EP for autumn this year.
